Hello my beloved Smash 4 Community. This is Harout - on behalf of the Power Up Gaming team and I, we would like to apologize for the very tragic and uncalled for situation that took place today at ZeRo saga and effected everyone.
On November 30th, Power Up Gaming and CCNA (the sponsors for 2GG) had preliminary discussions for a community partnership, which entailed the following trade (as seen in the following screen capture below.)
Later on that same day (Nov 30.), within a few hours, I provided my response for all that was being offered. (as seen in the following screen capture as well)
The following day, Kitty (Director of eSports events at CCNA) responded to my email. (screen capture below).
Since the email above was late in the day, and was busy taking care of other responsibilities that needed my attention, I responded the following morning. (My response written below in the screen capture.)
After i responded, 3 days passed, and I did not receive any response or contract from CCNA and Kitty so that I and the rest of our staff at Power Up Gaming could be given enough time to prepare for the saga. So, as it was in my best interest to follow up to make sure everything was okay, I decided to write to Kitty with a follow-up email to make sure everything was still on and okay. (The screen capture of this email is also attached below).
Kitty was responsive and got back to me within a few hours and said that we would most likely hear back from her by the end of the day - I then responded and expressed my appreciation. Six (6) days passed since that last email, as you can see in the thread from the image attachment, and was given the contract the week of the Saga, which was not enough time for us to successfully get the word to the community for a pre-saga party at our lounge for you guys to be able to come to and have a great time at.
The pre-saga party was intended for the community to be able to come have some fun and meet smash players from other regions, cities, and states. Since this was the core of what we were receiving as part of the trade, it was not economical to proceed with the partnership. (For those wondering, nothing was ever signed) Until this point in time, as I write this, CCNA has still not provided any of the promised deliverables.
I understand that as smash players, you all are here to have a great time and enjoy the game that you all love and appreciate so much. That is something that I will always admire about the community. As an individual, I am very sorry that the situation has failed to deliver to your overall enjoyment and experience. For that, I am sincerely sorry. If there is anything I can answer for you guys, or if you would like to personally reach me, please email me at email@example.com
With all my respect,
Harout at PWRUP
Today we are proud to introduce our new partners, Alliance Muay Thai (MT), to the Power Up Gaming team and family. The Alliance Muay Thai team and gym (2900 E. Patrick Ln) is home to some of Las Vegas' greatest trainers, coaches, and fighters. Their mission is to promote progression towards goals, specific to individual needs. They do this by enveloping the art of Muay Thai in different aspects of life to include respect, honor, culture, and dignity.
Last night I had the pleasure of meeting the Alliance team at our gaming lounge. It was a humbling experience as we all came together to enjoy some pizza and gaming for a few hours. The vision and passion that this team has really impressed me, and I just want to take the time today to recognize and honor their team today for the impressions that they've made in the Las Vegas fighting community.
I also want to congratulate the team for the sponsorship that they have earned with us. From this day forward, I want to see them succeed and it is in my best interest to provide the resources they need in order to efficiently accomplish their goals, not only within the sport but in other areas of life as well. Some things that you can expect to see out of our center for Alliance will be pre-fight events, fundraisers, care packages (supplements, meal preps, etc.) for the fighters and their members.
The Alliance team fighters, coaches, and members have the skill sets, both in an outside of the ring that really made them the team we were most interested in partnering with. When I think of a team with overall balance, I think of Alliance. They're smart, ambitious, hard working, talented, and very charismatic. I wish them nothing but the best in this opportunity and their pursuit to become one of the strongest teams in the sport. We look forward to what the future holds for both of us, together.
Hyperkin and Power Up Gaming Join Forces in eSports Sponsorship.7/18/2016
Today, we are proud to announce our new partners in eSports sponsorship, Hyperkin, to Team Power Up Gaming. Based out of Southern California, Hyperkin, has rapidly established a reputation for developing innovative, reliable and cost-friendly video game peripherals. They design, manufacture and distribute a wide variety of accessories for every major platform, including Nintendo® Wii U™, Sony® PlayStation®4, Microsoft® Xbox One, New Nintendo® 3DS™ as well as an extensive catalog of peripherals for classic platforms like NES, SNES, GameBoy™, SEGA® Genesis™, Saturn™ and Dreamcast™.
I put a lot of pride into our Power Up Gaming eSports organization. As the team manager now and previous competitor in sports growing up, I've been on both sides of the spectrum when it comes to sponsorships. This gives me the experience to acknowledge what it's like to be in the shoes of our players and provide them with everything they need to be able to do what they love, everyday. It is in my best interest to stand as a resource for our players and give them all the tools they need to maximize their experience, growth, and exposure.
It has been 8 months now since we first started our team and recruited one of our very first players, Vash (left), who represents our SSB4 team and is ranked as one of the top 10 players in the Las Vegas community. I made the time to talk to Vash face to face about our decision in teaming up with Hyperkin. His response was inspiring.
"I've always felt crazy for thinking there was something more to myself then what meets the eye. Power up gaming saw that, and put their faith in me. 8 months later here we are partnered with one of the up and coming innovators of video game peripheral, Hyperkin."
On behalf of myself and the rest of our staff and organization at Power Up Gaming, I would like to say thank you to Hyperkin for this exciting opportunity. I am more than proud to stand behind them as a believer in their brand and company. The strides we make are historic to our story and with this new partnership I'm excited to see where our future is headed, together.
Today, we are proud to announce and welcome Street Fighter V player, Evan "Kudaytaa" Hite, to Team Power Up Gaming. The 19 year old prospect has been impressive in recent tournaments and is earning himself a spot with some of the top Street Fighter 5 players in the Las Vegas scene.
I want to take the time to congratulate and recognize Evan for the Street Fighter V sponsorship he earned with us here at Power Up Gaming. I have been following his play and watching stream archives of his matches since the start of our "Power Punch" tournament series at Power Up Gaming. To say the least, he's impressive. He has skill sets, both on and off the game that really make him the player that we are looking for. When I think of a player with overall balance, I think of Evan. He's young, ambitious, hard working, talented, and very charismatic.
Evan and I had the chance to meet at Power Up Gaming (Las Vegas eSports and Video Game Lounge) on Wednesday afternoon, where we came to agreement and signed him onto the team. He will be making his Power Up Gaming debut this weekend for EVO 2016.
"I really do feel that this can help push me to the upper echelon of my game where I would like to be very soon! This opportunity will also give me the chance to make the trips to out-of-state events that I had planned on making it to in the next few months. I would like to thank you for expressing interest in my skill as i appreciate it a lot!" -Evan
I wish him nothing but the best in this opportunity and his pursuit to become one of the best in the game. I want to see him succeed and it is in my best interest to provide the resources he needs in order to efficiently accomplish his goals, not only within the game but in other areas of life as well. We look forward to what the future holds for both of us, together.
"I want to thank you for your support at our soft opening."
This past Saturday was a very special moment for me and the team at Power Up Gaming. Our soft opening had a great turnout, thanks to the gamers, and I just want to let you know how excited I am for the chance I had to meet all of you last weekend. My favorite part of Saturday was getting to talk to the entire gaming community and playing their favorite games with them for the entire day.
We want to make the gamers happy.
It has been a month and a half since the day first got the keys to our place, and my team and I have really worked hard to try to get this place powered up for the gamers. This is only the beginning, and I know that there is a lot of work that still needs to be done to get this place to a 100%, but it's within my best interest to work hard every day, listen to the gamers, and make sure that Power Up Gaming will be your most favorite gaming venue in the years to come.
Learn a little bit more about us.
A very kind and genuine gamer, Catro, volunteered to take footage of our place for his Youtube Channel, and also took the time to interview me (left) and Nubar (right). He asked some pretty interesting questions, and also shared his thoughts on our new Las Vegas gaming center. I just want to thank him for all his kindness and I look forward to seeing him again with his next visit. Followed is the embed of his video:

This is a very exciting moment for me and my team, and I'm glad we will have a chance to share it with you all this Saturday (November 28th).
The event has created a lot of buzz and the word is spreading quickly throughout town. Come Hungry, Food is on us:
In addition to getting the best bang for your buck on gaming this Saturday, I want to make sure all our gamers are taken care of. We will have pizza available for everyone that's gaming here on Saturday, and you guessed right - we're paying for it.
